Chip-ram slot broken ...
« on: January 26, 2013, 07:15:46 AM »
Since I bought my A4000 there has been issues with the chip-ram slot. One of the holders where broken when I got it and I sometimes had to unseat and reseat the ram-block to get it to boot.

Last night - while fiddeleing around once more :-) - the last holder broke off.

I have found a solution that holds the block in place (earplugs that rests between my Mediator logicboard and the block - old school computing!!). It works but I do not know for how long.

I think I know the ansver to this question: Can I use another slot for the chip RAM?

So basicly the only solutions is sending the board to reapir to get the holder replaced?
Booooiiiing!!!!

The socket will need to be replaced. You might as well do any others that need it at the same time.
