Anyway, if you consider that a A1200 is better than a Pegasos (I
suppose Peg I) then why do you want to buy a MicroA1 ?
The MicroA1 is close to the PegI, the only difference is that the A1
is not able "yet" to make safe DMA operation.

I actually kinda liked that original design, but really the self contained PPC mainboard solutions (both A1 and Peg) are clearly "the better mint..."

nicoppc: yes i am referring to what you wowed us (and others) that was the best thing so far, and now look, a new model came and all of a sudden pegasos 2 owners jump out and say "AMAZING"..

anyway to put some facts into here from my side aswell, i used to own an pegasos 1 and i used to own an a1 XE G4 , why i want an sharkppc and an a1 micro? , well for 1 it fits more my way of beeing an amiga user, the shark (if any comes) will head into my a1200 and the a1 micro will be the new "hw bash along setup"

and as far as DMA goes, i have had a peg1 and i have close friends who have a peg2 aswell, please explain closer

oh and last time i choosed new hardware "DMA" wasnt the reason, i choose the hardware platform via what suits me as an 100% amiga user who doesnt need a pc or a mac or a linux to keep up with the world.


anyway this thread is about "SHARK PPC" so i find it very natural to speak about that and not any of the new CLONES or attempts to put the amiga name further into the dark , and yes imho AmigaOne is not an amiga but it has the name and the OS! and infact i happen to love that OS!..

It´s just that some of us is tired of you typing the same kind of answere to a wild variety of questions.

I know a lot of Pegasos user believed pegasos was going to be the next generation amiga when Amiga Inc said AmigaDE was their focus and that they did not intend to make an desktop OS. And that MorphOS isn´t evolving as fast as it could, when so many people is waiting for AmigaOS4.

Well, I just don't consider A1/OS4 as agood computer/OS then I will not advice to get it...

How can u know it´s not a good computer/OS?

No he didn´t, he asked for an upgrade card. If some of the mac cards could be used or if sharkPPC was available.

I love your attitude, unfortunatly I have sold out.
Not big like everyone else that's gone all windowey and such, but I go use Macintoshes at home while the A4000 sits quiet on a desk (for now!)
I woul dreally love to use the Amiga OS on a G4 or like my new system, a G5.  It would be a pure realization of the Amiga dream that we have all had for so long.....

can we all please leave the morphos, pegasos, amigaone, os4 arguments alone please for once... this is not the time nor the place. This thread is about the sharkppc and nothing else, so stick on topic.

I'd be interested in SharkPPC if it gets released. It would be nice to have a fully compatible unit in 1 tower.

I would boot to OS3.9 partition/hard drive to access the classic stuff, or boot to OS4.0 partition/hard drive for the latest PPC offerings. Of course, this would be nice in theory only, as SharkPPC as itself and its OS4.0 compatibility are all unclear and unconfirmed.

If you like the idea then good but these companies keep going on about moving in time with new hardware, but still continue to make very expensive hardware for a 1992 machine.

Surely after twelve years it is time to move on instead of hacking more stuff together for a machine what is crippled.

Kind of like modernizing a classic car.
Imagine putting a modern engine and electrics in an MG B! It would be a sweet ride, expensive but thouroughly modern!

Same thing with Upgrading amiga HW.
