Problem converting video to hv
« on: December 24, 2012, 06:12:16 PM »
I have followed the instruction completely to fullest with the tutorial and I am having an issue converting video to .hv format. I even used VirtualDub and still have issue. With virtualDub I used 16 bit RGB (555) for decompression format and output and I changed the resolution and I disabled audio and I saved it as AVI.

When I run the new AVI format in VLC Player the color comes out wrong, it comes as if inverted or instead of the character skin looking white or pinkish it comes out blue...then when I use avi4hv it comes with a warrning: Only uncompressed 15-bit RGB vidoes are supported. When I finish to the last bit it makes an .hv file with 1 KB only and nothing happens when I attempt to play it on the Amiga side.

Can someone please help me on this, where did I go wrong?

Thanks in advance.

In Virtualdub did you go to Video->Compression and choose uncompressed RGB? Also, what resolution?

That is normal, because VLC does not support AVI with RGB (555).

It always says that.

Does avi4hv show video on the screen during the conversion?

According to the screenshot below this is what I have under video->compression, I cannot do anything else on it. Am I missing something?

What do you mean "oes avi4hv show video on the screen during the conversion?"? When I go in avi4hv and enter the video file name it goes less than second for process with 1 KB HV and that is that.

I think I did it!

I have done the first demo of Ren and Stimpy. Before I go any further, can someone with real Amiga 1200/A4000 with a good accelerator try it out for me? Tell me how is the speed of the Frame/rate, how is the audio and how is the quality?

During the night I will have the first episode completed and watchable. When I hear the feed back that my current configuration is perfect to work on the classic Amiga with 20 fps, I will do the rest of the ren and stimpy.

Then I will work on the movies I have and so forth. People can finally watch movies on their classic Amiga with full screen. However, I need a website where I can upload the movies/shows; so if someone can help me work on that and have a good HD space to be able to upload the movies that will be great!!

If you guys like my work, a good donation for the effort will entice me to do this for a long term and upload movies by request for the classic Amiga.

There is something wrong with the link do not click it, copy and paste it..otherwise it is taking you to a PC game I am making using Engine001.

Hamp could do with something like this to cut down the file size

Are small resolution page sizes in DPAINT possible?
