Does the FAST ATA *COMPLETELY* disable the on-board IDE by *COMPLETELY* replacing it, being a complete controller within itself?
You can't use fast ata as well as on board ide, because it uses the same address space.
"32-bit access
The computer recognises the controller as a 32-bit device configured in the motherboard IDE port space. Full 32-bit operation of the controller combined with very efficient software guarantee significant increase in the speed of your computer."
Without knowing what you're trying to do, it's difficult to recommend anything. If you need more than 4 ide devices then the pcmcia or scsi might help.
