Batman The Movie 1989 game. Hoax?

Someone send me this screenshot of what is supposed to be of the game "Batman The Movie" from 1989. Left side is the Amiga version and the right is side is...well, what is it?

I donno but the level gfx on the right look very familiar to me.  And I only played Amiga games 1987-1997

Could be a prerelease version?

Sega Genesis version?

It's the Amiga/ST beta version as previewed in Zero issue 0 given away free with Amiga Format.

The health bar indicator is the same as the one used in the final version of the Spectrum version.

All zero magazines are available in PDF on Piratebay.

To me, the level gfx look identical to the released Batman, only the colours are washed out through it being a scan of a photograph in a magazine. The bricks, pipes, floor, ladders and characters are all the same bitmaps as the released version no?

The only difference to me is the Status Bar?

possibly its simply an earlier version with a different status bar.

Yes, and personally no... I can't say I've really tried it. If I did it couldn't have made much of an impact on me, but that's just me.

BTW, you must be itching to download that Amiga Format demo disk! You can do it now and not have to worry about going to jail. LOL :nervous:

Have both Batman: The Movie and Batman: The Caped Crusader for Amiga... had both BITD too (as well as Caped Crusader for C64 which is really well done). Can't say I *still* play 'em anymore, but both are great games. Amiga movie version with the digitized opening screen and music was really impressive back then. Still is.

There's also a Batman Returns game, which supposedly sucks - but have never played it. There's a few great Amiga game sites that show what was what, but Lemonamiga.com is one of my favs. While they don't have every_single_game listed, it's easy to navigate, chock full of info and has some entertaining reviews...

I have two Batman disks (originals) with no docs or boxes. One is "The Caped Crusader" and the other just has the Batman logo and says Amiga at the top. and T< & (c) DC Comics 1964.
I have something running on the Amiga right now. I'll load er up when it's done.

Ok, the second disk says Batman the Movie in the opening sequence. I personally like the Caped Crusader better. Man, it's been years since I loaded either of these games.

paul1981: What it really all comes down to is that I have tried my best, my absolutely best not to have anything pirated on my computer. So, no downloaded pictures, torrents, videos and such. Believe it or not, I feel proud that all my data has been bought or is my own homebrew.
But yeah, I am dying to download that disk to try it out, ha, ha.

"GameTek was a video game publisher based in North Miami Beach, Florida well known for publishing video game adaptations of game shows in the early 1990s." Isn't that something...

Hmm... I just did a bit of reasearch. Just take a look at the contents page of any Amiga Format. It says that no part of the publication may be reproduced in any form. It doesn't mention the coverdisks though, although they are indeed part of the publication....I thought the whole idea of demos disks was that they get reproduced?

Things are only truly illegal though if there's a financial incentive. 20 Year old magazines and demo disks? No incentive there at all. :hammer:

That is why I wish that the publisher or owner would say: "Enjoy ya all", with or without the southern accent. Are there anyone from 'Amiga Format' or 'Zero' magaines on amiga.org?
