A1000 to go to a friendly home
« on: October 13, 2012, 05:41:02 AM »
Hi All

As I briefly mentioned in my earlier email I have a A1000 that's been sitting around waiting for me to have enought time to get back into it. That spare time hasn't appeared

The A1000 was bought by me a few months after they launched (I had it on a hire purchase agreement with Radio Rentals - I couldn't afford to buy outright). Later I tried expanding with an external hard drive (Tiny Tiger) which I've included (without a drive). I then tried an external IDE/Memory card that I couldn't get the IDE to work. Sent the card to the supplier in QLD to repair and they went bust taking my card with them.

I later bought the Phoenix motherboard as that solved a number of my problems. The system is running 2.0 from memory - cannot remember whether I have a 60MB or 120MB drive inside. The system includes the original Phoenix manual, the old motherboard, external floppy, a bunch of disks and some manuals (a few basic manuals/bars&pipes/Amiga programmers handbook/AmigaDos manual. The books are in pretty good condition, the machine itself is still in OK condition with yellowing as expected. I've tried some cleaning and it's coming up OK so will make a pretty good computer for those who are OK with cleaning a little further.
