Is this a bug, and is there some sort of work around to keep MIDI settings saved from session to session? I hate having to set them up each and every time.

Seem to remember you have to edit soundstudio.configuration manually but I could be wrong.
I think the help tells you what you can add.

I usually set everything up and then save a blank template med file. That generally retains all the useful state.

That will save my MIDI instruments, but not my default MIDI settings.
