A3000 leds.
« on: January 21, 2004, 11:11:05 PM »
I've noticed that the power led on my A3000D has died, or the trace has simply been damaged by constant opening/closing of the case, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a good source for these, if indeed it turns out that I need a replacement led?

Radio Shack used to have one that was a close fit.

I want the exact replacement. :-)

So these leds were custom made for Commodore? The A1200 leds look similar to the ones on A3000. Perhaps I could take off one from an extra A1200 led panel that I have and use them on the A3000.

Is it only the power LED that's stopped working? Does the HD light still work?

Both the 3000's I've worked with in my life had LEDs that only occasionally worked, and what got them working was usually something very odd - unplug a drive, remove a card, etc. They did not work during normal operations.

Only the power led is not working.

This is a known problem as opening and closing the case of the A3000D causes stress on the led contacts (poor design).
