Nice Ports on AmiNet!

While you're at it, why not try Quake on your A500 too?!

Your sensible answer is: Five Zork games will run on your 1.3.2 machine, they are; Zork Zero, Zork, Zork II, Zork III and Beyond Zork, and also Wishbringer will work, which is based in the Zork universe where you may or may not be eaten by a grue.
A1200 030@28Mhz/2MB+32MB/RTC/KS3.1/IDE-CF+4GB/4-Way Clockport Expander/IndivisionAGA/PCMCIA NIC

CD32 020@14Mhz/2MB+8MB/RTC/KS3.1/IDE-CF+4GB
A600 030@30Mhz/2MB+64MB/RTC/IDE-CF+4GB/Subway USB/S-Video/PCMCIA NIC/USB Numeric Keypad+Hub+Mouse+Control Pad

Thanks!

Actually, I would like to try Quake (as in 'III') on my rig, but I'd need to do some considerable upgrades 1st - since its just a barebones WB 1.3.2 machine. I  have seen the 'AmiQuake', tho.

Sorry, I was kinda joking about Quake, although it might run alright on your A2000 with 060 and RTG. It's possible Heretic II may run on that setup too but I doubt Quake III, I think that has only been compiled for PPC and x86 Amigas.

As for Infocom titles, I forgot the Enchanter/Sorcerer/Spellbreaker trilogy are also set in the Zork universe, and will run on the A500 too.

Ha-ha! Thanks for the apology - its rather rare in the cut-throat viciously 'spell-checking' world of online forums!

But, yes, I was aware of the jest - but, it was also a challenge, and maybe the seed of an idea for a future project! ;0) (I never say 'never' - uh, except for the two times I just said it!)

Hehe, no worries, if you're up for another challenge, how about installing Shapeshifter on your 060/RTG setup, then you could run the colourful Return to Zork - http://macintoshgarden.org/games/return-zork

:)

What we really need is our own, fully scalable, signature FPS that can run on everything from my skinny little A500 to the most powerful, full-blown A4000!

AND...it should automatically detect what type of machine its running on, and reconfigure itself accordingly!

Citadel runs on an A500. A bit slow though on 68000. Much better with 020:

Edit: Very slow on 68000. But does run!

One thing I've always been wondering about Citadel: Is this game in any way related to Star Wars and Lucas Arts? Some of those characters actually look like they resemble famous Star Wars characters.

@Cammy

Whatever became of your game design/development ideas? Last I read about it was that you guys became increasingly frustrated about finding someone programming a board and, in return, gave up on it. Have there been any more recent developments?

It would be a real shame if all your good work had gone unrewarded.
Especially because of such a trivial matter.

Unfortunately there is still no Amiga development forum (since Utility-Base has been gone for a few years now and our Underground-Arcade forum was lost) so the Amiga community continues to experience a lack of new games and software. With a good new forum for developers to work on their ideas together I imagine we'd see a much more productive community and more game releases. But unfortunately there is no one who can program a new forum or pay for hosting and domain registration. I haven't given up, but it's hard to work with no help when you have depression.

This is an extremely worthwhile and worthy project! We need to rally around this thing! I think getting a dedicated site and host is probably a first, major step towards seriously expanding the Amiga's software platform, and not just for games, but other applications.

I feel for you Cammy.
I feel like I ought to be  doing more coding too.
But since I sufer from the same problem, just getting to work, earning a living, and trying to keep a stable family life can be a challenge.

However, I just bought a little 250cc motorcycle on Ebay and it was delivered a couple of days ago.
Let you in on a couple of my secrets - Tooling around on a bike and listening to real hard metal are even better then Cymbalta at treating and helping manage depression.
