The Competition Pro USB is as "Old School" and durable as they come; Amigakit sells them for 23 USD

Catweasel is definitely faster, but doesn't work with any 64 Bit OS - nobody ported the drivers.

Oh, I guess one of those is out then win 7 64bit here.

How easy is it to map other functions or keys to extra joystick buttons in WinUAE?
I prefer to use my XBOX 360 arcade stick for just about everything these days.

Does this mean that this joystick adapter will only work with emulators that specifically support it?

As I said, I hacked a DB9 port onto a standard USB controller and it will work with any PC game or emulator that supports a regular USB gamepad.

The adapter you bought is smaller, but if it only is supported by certain emulators (or certain versions of emulators) then not sure it's an advantage...

I'm sure it's HID compliant.  Everything is these days.

I bought the atari arcade USB adapter and it is working absolutely out of the box with my good old konix speedking and some games ready to run provided by thecompany.pl

the sad thing is that it is not working on my AmigaOne (GrimReaper)...
