CyberstormPPC boot in A3000D without INIT2 modification?
« on: September 07, 2012, 11:28:11 PM »
I'm expecting a base Amiga 3000D in the next few days, as I understand it needs the Init2 modification done to use the CyberstormPPC reliably, only reference I can find is from a website that mentions SCSI and PPC issues, so I'm just wondering without the modification should it still be possible to reach the boot screen, or will it refuse to boot at all? Thanks

You should be able to use the board without SCSI no problem AFAIK. I think even PPC is ok its just the SCSI that wont work but not sure about that last part. U should def get a boot screen.

As I recall, without the INT2 the motherboard does not communicate at the level of CPU slot pin 82; the interrupt is not communicated to the CSPPC and the onboard SCSI will not work properly. The mod involves connecting pin 19 of the riser Zorro slot the #82 of the CPU slot. Google CSPPC INT2 mod for A3000
