@Digiman

It's still possible to get a good Amiga system working for little cash, you just need to be patient. For instance, A1200 accelerators routinely go for over £100 but I got two 68030/40s for about £60 each, and a 1200 with a 8MB RAM card for £55+postage - you just need to be a bit lucky, but patience is usually rewarded. One of the 68030's was being sold as a ROM upgrade (but the picture was clearly an '030) and the other had had a capacitor fall off (which was included and was a 2 minute replacement job).
An A2000 is a good starting point for a budget Amiga - they're very cheap and yet distinctly expandable (and MILITARY SPEC!!!!1eleven), but it can go further yet!

Don't give up on the Miggy yet :)

It's an A2000 I need. The last one even listed in the UK was collection only A1500 and would cost me £80 in train fare to collect as he wouldn't post it. That had 2mb RAM and no hard drive. There is only one other and it's £300 and another A1500 with bugger all inside that is also listed on Gumtree for £200 (which is obviously what he is looking for hence the reserve).

There is a yellowed 3000 for £200 up there but I dunno big box Amigas are getting quite rare now on ebay I find. There's a yellowed 4000 auction too but god knows how much that will go for and that is also collection in person only.

I've not seen an Amiga 1000 even listed on ebay UK for probably a year now but luckily I have one of those.

I will keep my A1000 because it is the best computer ever produced right up to today but would sell off the rest of kit I have. I might start collecting classic cars, think it would be a cheaper hobby in the UK and my dad's a mechanic anyway :rofl:

(Although they are great machines and plentiful I don't like the A1200/A600 keyboards so the hard drive is no problem but don't fancy coding on it for hours on end)

probably 2 hours a day playing games and doing random stuff so 14 hours in total. This is based on an average and some days I will be on it longer.

About 5 hours on my 1200 playing ScummVM and WHDLOAD games etc, and about 15 hours a week coding Amiga games on my PC ;)
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

None also.
But I do use my MorphOS system on a daily basis and I'll fire up AmigaForever at least once a week (primarily to play an old game).

And if I ever get around to buying a SAM460, I'll probably be using more 3.1 software.
I guess that would sortr of qualify as Amiga use.

For the purpose of this discussion, Morph OS, OS4 and AROS totally counts :)

Hi,

I usually play about 10 games of Soliton, and 5 to 10 games of Megaball, first version, only because my kids have the high score in Megaball. Until last year I used to keep all my important data on my A4000 desktop, but have changed over to Ubuntu Linux for that, Ubuntu plays all the Mods, and shows all the pics, and demos that the Amiga had.

Plus when ever I want to play a game euae is really nice on linux, and Cloanto's Amiga Forever rocks on Windows. To bad a lot of Amiga owners don't adopt it as their Amiga for the future, it sure beats touching a Mac, or waiting for programmers to update their OS programs. Still can't believe the cost of MorphOS. It is a work in progress for the last 10 years. Maybe one day it will be finished, but I will probably be dead by then.

I have no idea what your talking about, so here is a doggy with a small pancake on his head.

MorphOS is a MAC done a little better

@smerf. I don't understand how using Windows is using an Amiga.

BTW you need to update your yearly subscription you cranky old fart.

All depends about the spare time..

But i think maybe can be a minimum of three hours a week (my Classic Amiga its not my main Machine anymore two years ago). Thats, maybe playing any game, browsing the Web, or  doing different things.

Somebody talk about Commodore 8bit stuff. In my experience both machines work fine, i have several C=Commodore and C=Amiga Stuff and all work fine.. Maybe you not had the correct procedure to preserve the Amiga hardware.

Anyway, i could beleve the C=64 can survive any nuclear war becouse the Commodore 64 comunity its very active.
Amiga 1000, 500, 600, 2000, 1200, 4000...

C= VIC 20 / 64 /SX64/ 128

Atari 600XL (SIC Cartdridge)
Atari 800XL (SIO2SD unit)

Jay Miner`s Atari 2600 - Wood front -
