I have a 1200 but I don't use it very often. since upgrading my 600 I spend most of my time on there. However if I had the money I would save up and get some mods for it. Such as a new cpu and scan doubler.

If the hdd is inserted then yes. If not then there is a slight delay (about 5 seconds) while it's trying to discover it and then gives up lol. But with the accelerator and hdd active it boots in seconds. And I have one of the classic workbench, 68k, packages installed. Which is a preconfigured workbench environment.

Also I have a different firmware installed on the ECS scan doubler and i have it running at 800x600 and looking really good.

Yeah it's stock. It's a bit like the family silver. It only comes out on special occasions.

Time is not such an issue. It's money and some of the stuff for the 1200 have silly price tags. The only thing I would want to do at the moment is replace the hdd with a cf hdd.

Yes things can be quite expensive for A 1200. But you could get a cf hdd for it those are quite cheap.

But if you could find a 4 meg or 8 meg ram card to a fair price, then you will have a nice Amiga 1200 along with the cf hdd
