Any Tampa Amiga Users?
« on: August 29, 2012, 10:56:37 AM »
A neighbor of mine was telling me how she had some photos/files of relatives that are no longer with us on Amiga floppy disks. I thought sure I would help her and read up on UAE.

So I installed UAE and then looked into how to read the floppy drives, only to find I couldn't.  Looking into the additional steps required I thought I was out of my depth.

Which brings me to this post.  Are there any Tampa Amiga users I might be able to point her to to help?  I have a complete XP machine running UAE, but not more than that.

Thanks,

The Chris

PS Keep up all the great work.

A solution get if there is nobody who can help - get an old A500 or better A1200 with CrossDos and you can write the disks to PC disks.
See the description that I easyily found with a little help of google http://www.lemonamiga.com/help/faq_crossplatform.php

Another possible solution if there is nobody who can help nearby http://www.vesalia.de/e_catweaselmk4.htm

Used to be a huge Amiga user group in Tampa named TBAG. There must be a few people left around there....
A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)
C-128 w/1571, 1750, & Final Cartridge III+

If you have 2 non USB floppy drives then you may be able to read the Amiga disks with no special hardware.
