2 CF card adapter for IDE?
« on: August 28, 2012, 05:29:07 AM »
I noticed Vesalia has an adapter to connect 2 compact flash cards to the A1200 IDE port. This would be a really simple way to add a second hard drive for me, and cheaper than getting a 4 way IDE interface, and a second IDE to CF adapter.
Does anyone have experience with this device?

Well I have one and although the second is supposed to act as the Slave (is this an S&M issue) and the other the Master (dominatrix?), my "slave" would not show up half the time. I could see it in Media Toolbox/HDToolbox and in FindDevice of IDEFix97 but it wasn't there in Workbench to format and use. I blew it off and used Mech's SCSI card reader to back up CF cards. Probably is faster going from SCSI to IDE on an A4000T as one controller reads while the other writes or at least that ought to be the DMA theory. You can find these on Amazon's site pretty cheap (mine was around 14 bucks) to try out. Hope you are more persistent than I was.

I'll have to put up my cat avatar.

Note: No attending physician is totally worthless, they can always be used as a prime example of what NOT to do.
