Commodore 64 emulators for Amiga 500 ..?

Were the Commodore 64 emulators for Amiga 500 any good?
I remember a lot of ads for those during the transition years.

I had both 64 Emulator 2 and A64 back in the day. Both purchased with adaptors to connect 64 floppy drives.

A64 was definately the better of the two. It had come out later, when 64 Emulator 2 dropped out of development so was a later emulator. It was not too bad but really an unexpanded Amiga of the 500/2000 era had a tough time fully emulating all the 64 hardware so speed wasnt quite there for games and such.

There was also a free 64 emulator (think it was MagiC64 but dont quote me on that its been a long time) that used the hardware from one of those two in order to access 64 drives.

I find it amusing that thanks to the Chameleon64 cartridge, my C64C can now emulate an ECS Amiga.  I never thought I'd see that day.  :)

The best for any Amiga 500, is A64 Package. The only thing, you will know, if the  A500 only have the 68000, then all will run slow.

Magic64, its the best C=64 Emulator for AOS, but is AGA Required

I ran Magic 64 on an ECS chipset Amiga.  It was slightly slow even with an 040, but fast enough for most stuff.
