Amiga 3000T repair service wanted
« on: August 15, 2012, 06:56:34 PM »
I have messes up my 3000T when i tried to change the caps.

When i tried to turn the damn thing on cap 171 blew on me grey/white smoke and did not boot, tried to replace the cap but still dead so is there some one close to sweden that do these kinds of repairs.

I have no problem paying for myself so feel free to drop a PM with a price and where you live.

If you can't find anyone locally, I do international Amiga repairs on all models in New Zealand.  Only available for two more weeks until September then resuming in November 2013.

Have you talked to  http://www.ggsdata.se/ ? I'm sure they would know someone in Sweden who can work on it. It would be extremely expensive to ship an A3000T around the world just to get it fixed, finding someone closer to home is much better.

Amiga Repair Center in France (Jean-Jacques Boulet)

I basically "retired" from repairs 6 years ago, but have been known for fix a stray Amiga here and there. Sweden... that's a lot of shipping.

Yeah, back to Antarctica for another year.  I'm obviously insane.  Or a sucker for the free food and cheap beer.  There's no practical way of doing freight, so Amiga repairs and parts supplies will be on hold for a year.

As for repairing the A3000T, it's just a matter of sending the main board as costs of sending the entire computer would be prohibitive.  You can airmail a 2.5kg main board around the world for around 44 Euro.

I do repair Amiga computers.  I charge only $50 plus the cost of parts, if any are needed.  I do accept PayPal.  Can you post a picture of the area of the board where the cap blew.
