Greetings from an expatriate Dane in the US :)

As far as I know, with the same Mhz, there's no difference in speed between 020 and 030, but I rarely see 020s clocked higher than 20ish mhz. 030 expansions were sold up to 50 mhz.

020 CPU has no MMU and 030 has have an MMU. You can figure out
the speed in mhz with the following programs: SysInfo and  WhichAmiga

020 and 030 are quite equalent, execpt 030 has a MMU and 256 bytes data cache, when 020 has only instruktion cache.

020 has a 190 000 transistors and 030 270 000 transisotrs.

What kind of amiga you have? A4000? Does it has a separate CPU bord or is 030 soldered to mobo?

Most economy solution would be this

http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=223

It is original Commodore 68040 borad, it doesn't have memory on it own, max memory wit this is 18mb

Most likely a 25MHz, which is what came with a C=3630 CPU card or onboard on a revision D motherboard.

Benchmarking with Sysinfo could provide more info.

Better software compatibility with the 020 chip.  Dose not have a built-in MMU, like the 030 chip.  The 020 chip uses an external MMU chip that can be turned off for better software compatibility.  68020 boards are usually made better then 68030 boards.

Not all 030's have MMUs....
A lot of ec030's are out there and they don't have MMUs, so that can depend...
I haven't heard of that many compatibility issues with 030's (especially compared to 040's and higher)....

The MMU in an 030 is generally not used and is off by default. It doesn't affect compatibility in any way. The only things that might affect compatibility are the data cache, which can be disabled, and the missing CALLM and RTM instructions, which were very rarely, if ever used.
