Amiga and Macs networked

      At this point my Amiga 3000 is seeing the DSL with the X-surf ethernet card.  Now what does it take to have the Amiga talk to other Macs on a network through a router to exchange files?

     I doubt Amiga do Appletalk.

If you use OS X on your mac it should support samba straight out of the box.

I'd recommend FTP.

Well, isn't Samba available for both Mac as well as Amiga?

Yes, SAMBA would work great on OS X, for MacOS 9.x and below you might also try to find a copy of the CrossMAC filesystem (by the same author as CrossDOS) which should work fine over an established network connection and deals with evil things like macbinary and resource forks.

 There was APPLETALK over TCP/IP once available too.. Not sure where that disappeared to..

OS X also has an FTP server, but be aware that FTP isn't terribly secure.

intranet FTP is not a big deal..especially if he's behind a firewall.  I completely forgot about SAMBA.. I have that running on my Pegasos

We used to have a mac and a bunch of amiga's networked thru C-Ltd's SCSI net.. Now that was fast and good networking for it's time..
