USB Mouse adapter
« on: June 25, 2012, 12:01:34 AM »
Saw this item on ebay and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with it, both good and bad.

Thanks,

Curtis

Some one posted about this device not long ago (I can't find it however) they were having trouble getting it connected, IIRC.
I just bought a Micromys V3, and I love it. This one allows connecting just one mouse - ether ps2 or most USB. I understand the V4 may even be more compatible. I like these because it will work with both Amiga and C-64/ 128 machines. Apparently the plug is too large for the Amiga A600 though, (and the C-128) requiring an adapter or trimming.
Hope this helps.

A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)
C-128 w/1571, 1750, & Final Cartridge III+

Was me I bought it a little while a go, works great although having an issue find somewhere to mount it in the case. Drivers worked great, wheel works, 5 buttons work.

I have one of these and i'm very happy with it, the only bad thing i have to say about it is that i feel that it could be made to fit a desktop A1200 better.

If it was just the one port instead of two it would be better, could fit it along the back with the other ports.

the solder/wires/pins coming out of the bottom of the circuit board are also not as flat as it could be so the board doesn't sit flat so that makes it hard to find a place.

But I think I found a spot will take photos soon :-)

already bought it some times ago and working very well.

Wireless mouse, Ps/2, USB / 5 buttons / Wheel / all my mouses are working.

And you can connect 2 joystick + one mouse at same time :)

Great product :)

Hmm, haven't heard anything so negative that it would deter me from giving one of them a spin for an A500 project I'm tinkering with.

@ motrucker.  I also have a micromys and am quite happy with it.  Styling isn't the greatest, but since it's hiding behind the computer where it's not seen that's really a non-issue.

Thanks to everyone who responded.

He also sells this

For a mouse with only a PS2 connector you'd need an adapter as this only has the USB connector. Plus you can only have a mouse or joystick plugged in.

Neither of them actually talk USB, they expect the mouse to fall back to PS2 mode even though it's plugged in via USB.

This one works fine with all my Logitech USB mice, but there is no way to use the wheel unfortunately...

@curtis
After reading all of the comments you stirred up, I think I'll try one of these too.  It would fit well in an A2000.

I like MKL's PS2 mouse adapters. I wish he was still offering the Amiga version. Had one before and it was excellent. Plus they were inexpensive.

How much trouble is it to squeeze into a 1200 case?
