Well, my computer is still pretty stuffed. Scanned with Malwarebytes last night, thought it was all good, not so much.

This thread is out of control. Amibay is not for all (myself included), lets leave it at that be a happy Amiga community

I'll buy that for a dollar, as long as these l337 haXX0r script kiddie wannabees who found something on Pastebin will leave AmiBay alone. Magnetic could be full of it, so I could be wrong about this.. if he's not, then we have a short list of suspects.. I'll say no more on the matter.

@ All

AmiBay isn't infected now. We are just clearing up a few damaged files but 95%+ of the site is working now.

Yep, I can confirm the virus is all gone now. :destroy:

Btw, as a N00b to the Amiga scene, I think some of the folks here just dont like the AmiBay rules, if that's the case there are several other Miggy forums around.

We don't have any particular hatred for the A.org forum over at Amibay, despite what some may think. It's a different perspective here on A.org and we respect that.

Magnetic has alleged that some Amiga users (not necessarily A.org users) have chosen to attack our site with malicious software and that sort of behaviour should have no place on ANY forum, no matter what the subject matter of the forum.

If the two sites can't agree on that, then there's no hope.

Wtf
No I'm not full of it. I'm a former Amiga and newtek dealer for over ten years and held an official license from Amiga Inc.  And yes I'm sure it's Amiga ppl that they mistreated that hack amibay. People dont take kindly to privacy invasion and Internet stalking. Certianly not "hackers".

And yes they also ridicule aorg all the time.

Oh and when I posted today on the dab threa and asked Merlin the chief admin if they have learned their lesson and will change their fascist behavior they deleted my post.

And I need to grow up what a laugh.

I got life banned for selling an a1200 CPU after two months of use to upgrade. No warning no anything just life ban. Why a life ban? Because when I called them out on their totalitarian methods and privacy invasion they didn't like it. How pathetic. Oh and not only did they Internet stalk me but they stalked the person I sold it to. This gives u an idea how bad it is and how these guy have no life or ethics. So anti Amiga I hope they keep getting hacked. They wish they ould have a site with As much integrity as aorg.

Ive deleted some of my "build log" on there because i really want nothing to do with amibay, it was very quickly killing my newly refound interest in the Amiga.

If you could delete my profile off there it would be much appreciated, you are welcome to also delete any  threads i have started.

@danwood,

[No alerts or problems surfing there on my A1200, AmigaOne or MorphOS machine]

A1200 to old to bother with a virus

AmigaOne the reason they call it AmigaOne is because their was only one made, once again why bother with nothing.

MorphOS isn't this a new virus, oh no it just runs on MACS once again a useless entity to mess with. Although if you like MACS it is a better OS to use.

I have no idea what your talking about, so here is a doggy with a small pancake on his head.

MorphOS is a MAC done a little better

I need to not reply, but some perspective might be in order...

You asked if they will change their "fascist behavior" and you are surprised that post got deleted?

Really..

If someone else said that about some other site, don't you think that would sound pretty bad????

Quote from: magnetic;697606
And yes they also ridicule aorg all the time.
And people here bash Amibay all the time.
Just means there are people on both sites that don't like the other site.
Doesn't mean either site is evil or anything???
It's the Internet.  People ridicule lots of things all the time..

As for "Internet Stalking?"  A little hyperbole there?
I reserve that type of phrase for people that harass their ex's or think Selena Gomez will really be interested in them once they get her address and show up in her house with duct tape dressed all in bacon..
(It won't work...  don't ask.. )

If this is basically them searching the internet to see what you've sold, to whom and at what price, I'm not sure I'd call that "stalking."

As I've said, you're totally free not to like Amibay.  Not to like their rules, etc..
But those are their rules....

Probably best to leave it at "I don't like them and that site isn't a good fit for me."

You can continue to post in every thread about them, but to be honest, it's not making them look bad..  It's reflecting on you...
IMHO...

I do wish you a good evening.  I have no ill will for you.  I just don't agree with your perspective.

Take it easy..

yeah, that miniscule 89% of the computing world.  I'd heard a rumor that tiny group of about a billion computer users was still active; I wonder if they have any fansites or anything.

Anyway.

No, I'm not "constantly paranoid" about jack because I run a secure system.

Meanwhile Amigas soldier on with "security through obscurity" as the only defense.

The AMIGA is Dead,  WINDOWS is a much much much better OS than AMIGA ever will be.

My PHONE is more powerful and more useful and I use it more, that any classic amiga I ever owned.

JJ, I was referring to B00tDisk's inability to pick up on the fact that my own post was in jest. As was my reply. There's really no need to get upset when we're only joking about. Why so serious?

No problem here in AmigaOS, Aros, MorphOS, MacOS, or Linux. I'm surprised people still use Windows, aren't they constantly paranoid that someone else is browsing their hard drive?

My biggest concerns goes more for what Google "free" services do with our computers and data...

If you don't like Amibay, there are other options to use.

I'm not a fan of the place due to some arrogance I was shown when I got back into the Amiga scene a few years back, but the place fills a very important role for the Amiga community.  If you like it, use it - if not, you have other options I suppose.

How were they arrogant? I don't know much about the place though. Amiga.org is the only Amiga forum site i go to.
Even my cat doesn\'t like me.
