Version 1.2. of my 68k distribution "Aros Vision"
« on: June 13, 2012, 11:28:41 AM »
I have uploaded the newest version of "Aros Vision". It is based on Aros 68k and extended with software and components from the vast 68k base. It can be used on emulation (UAE) and also on real classic hardware and will be base for 68k emulation in the Aros distributions.

More infos here:

Manual here:

Download here:

Version is 1.2.
Differenced to the version I published a few weeks ago are added games, Aweb, Scalos as alternative to Wanderer, Amiga Python, PDF-Support (aPDF) and many others.

My roadmap for future versions:

1.3.
CD-Support (MakeCD/Frying Pan)
added CLI-Commands
Public Screen Support (mostly from CLI)

Sometimes Applications that are started from Wanderer also close Wanderer when they are closed (Public Screen). I will offer workarounds for that in the future.

1.4.

Internet-Applications
Emulators
Audio-Applications
Real3D

1.5.
Samba/Network
Utilities for Graphic and Sound
Demos (AGA)

and I will add much more informations, compatibilty page (Hollywood 5.0. works perfect), links and tips on my webpage

Are you goint to port Netsurf 68k? That would be only reasonable/working solution.

I have created the distribution but not ported software. I have tested Netsurf 68k but it does not work in the distribution (based on SDL but not all SDL ports work). i have already reported that Netsurf not works but the different persons involved are debating whose "fault" it is (Maintainer of Aros 68k, maintainer of Kickstart Replacement, person who ported Netsurf or SDL), so it is not easy...

SDL is dead end for 68k Amigas, somebody should gave to it native reaction(classact) or mui gui.

Chris has done lots of work so that could be possible, making back porting easier, with his OS4 port. OS4 version has a reaction gui, but I belive it is not possible with this??
