ClassicWB ADVSP and atapi CDROM driver issues
« on: June 05, 2012, 05:11:05 PM »
Hey all!

I'm having issues getting a CDROM up and running on my fresh ClassicWB ASVSP 3.1 install on my A4000D on the builtin IDE port.

My options are:

1.  Install AmiCDROM from the MyFiles/Install folder.  If I go this route, there is no option for an atapi device.

2.  AsimCDFS.  This one has no problem finding the CDROM, but is unable to write to the startup-sequence at the end, causing it to fail.

Anyone run into this issue?  I'm at a loss.

Mark this one solved - I just edited the user startup for asimCDFS and put the assigns in manually.  The CDs won't automount, even if I put the mount >NIL in, but it isn't hard to just do a mount cd0: from the command line.

Using ClassicWB and my A4000, I've always used my FastATA and the software that came with it.  Isn't there a CD0 file in the storage/devs draw you can use?
A2000, A3000, 2 x A1200T, A1200, A4000Tower & Mediator, CD32, VIC-20, C64, C128, C128D, PET 8032, Minimig & ARM, C-One, FPGA Arcade... and AmigaOne X1000.

When I get a FastATA, I will most definitely use it :)

As it is, Asim works fine.  I could probably make sure that it mounts at startup, I just don't have the syntax down yet.
