CV64 Scandoubler colour issue
« on: May 13, 2012, 12:12:15 AM »
Recently installed a Cybervision with scandoubler in my A4k, had no installation issues and all is well. Except, native screens are ok 90% of the time until it displays AGA graphics. What I mean is that it has a colour problem. Only on AGA demo's etc it sometimes displays totally the wrong colour, most noticeable when there's colour scaling. Can't see that I've done anything wrong so I thought I'd ask you good peeps out there for some input?

p.s happens on multiple monitors, so I've ruled them out.

Thats normal, because all Scandoublers and Flickerfixers reduce the number of colors to keep the required electronics in a small size.

There is only one fullcolor and full AGA compatible "old" standalone flickerfixer:
- CompServ AGA FlickerFixer II
Its rare, expensive, and analog (requires adjusting after warmup) and its fullsize in its slot.
(You cant use a ZIII expansion in the same slot)

The Picasso4 has a inbuild flickerfixer with 24bit .. but this couldnt help with a cv64.

And there are two "new" flickerfixers with full color / AGA support:
- Indivision AGA MK 1
- Indivision AGA MK 2

They are both "digital" and dont need a slot (plugged on the chipset).

If you own a old cv64 (non 3d) you can connect the indivision output with the cv64 for automatic monitor switching.
With a cv64/3d you need some extra electronics ...

Thanks Ratte for the answer.
After spending 280 euros getting the CV64 + doubler I don't think I'll be changing anything just yet.
