anyone tired contacting softwood to see if they would sell the source for final writer to the community. I got 2 adresses for them I do not know which one is right.

You can try but I do not have (much) hope. I had contact 2 years ago asking making the products freeware. The answer was it contains licensed parts and no time (and interest) to remove them. Later on I never got any answer again...
