Where are you located? I might be interested in selling one of my A1000s. Has original box, and keyboard, mouse.

I am actually located in south america. I have been coming to europe on two occasions recently, and took advantage of that to get me some mice enay auctions (i think all from uk sellers). Where are you located and how much would you want for your Amiga? I should be coming back in about a month and a half give or take.

I'd be interested if it had a phoenix board....

Jinx ... I've been looking to buy a reasonable A1000 locally for a few years now and just got home 10 minutes ago with one I picked up off of my local Craigslist. Came with 1080 monitor, 1060 sidecar, DigiView, Perfect Sound digitizer, external floppy, etc. Everything seems to be original, working, and in good condition. Not bad for $75 I think. I'll have to find some time to play with it tomorrow.

I always had a soft spot for the A1000 as it's the first one I saw, and I think the case looks great. I've been a bit put off by the expandability, but interesting enough I'm just reading now that the sidecar can host a hard drive? That will be interesting to try and get going. I now have an A1000, A2000, and 4000D - now I just need a cheap A3000 to complete my collection, the one I want the most actually.

Yeah, well, I'm not lucky enough to live in the US, and don't have such offers here in my country. Only now on these short europe trips can I attempt to get something and at a reasonable price.. :(

I prefer the "batpack" rev 5 a500, as it was the first I owned. No pesky kickstart disks & no noisy fans.

Fan makes less noise than laptops today and the keyboard is superior to A500 or 600. Smaller footprint with monitor on top. You only load the kickstart disk once too.

If anyone wants to swap 2 A500s for an A1000 I'm here :)

Never had a problem getting Amiga 1000's. I was recently gifted this little lot.

The 1000s I have...

http://www.commodore-amiga-retro.com/amiga/amiga_scuzz18.htm

The 2500 is more difficult to get hold of and say the Commodore A1060. The latter plus a tape drive for the A3000UX would be very significant finds for the collection.

PS My first Amiga 1000 came all the way to the UK from Canada with a single piece of bubble wrap around it... and it arrived without any damage to the box.

Depends on your definition of rare.
True, there are times when they aren't on e-bay or just one.
But there are times when there are a few.

The high price ones are just silly.  You can't judge them all by that auction.
You'll see one for $100 or so within a few weeks...

I generally do, although I got mine already.  Not too long ago..

Amiga 1200 w/ ACA1230/28 - 4G CF, MAS Player, ext floppy, and 1084S.
Amiga 500 w/ 2M CHIP and 8M FAST RAM, DCTV, AEHD floppy, and 1084S.
Amiga 1000 w/ 4M FAST RAM, DUAL CF hard drives, external floppy.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but noticed this site while randomly searching the net.
My A1000 has been parked in a cupboard for quite a few years going nowhere. I had assumed that I'd get into it again when my kids grew up but that's not happening. I have a SCSI phoenix in it, which I bought (a looong time ago) after trying an external ram/ide card that got stolen by the company that made it (when they tried to fix a fault in it).
I'm interested in seeing whether there's still interest in the machine and I can put it on ebay. I'm based in Sydney Australia.

If there was an A1000 on the UK ebay then I'd definitely be interested. So would others. I'm very jealous of that chap who got his with all expansions for $75...
In the UK it would fetch probably £200, or more depending on number of bidders.

hi & welcome aboard. If your A1000 is in working order and in clean shape (i.e not yellowed) it will get you between $250-$400 here in Canada.  If you also have the original box & all documentation I've seen them go up to $800-$1,000 here.

btw, if you want to sell your Phoenix board separately let me know :-)

Sorry about that ... I did spend a few days cleaning all the grime off everything since then and I must say it's all in absolutely excellent pristine condition, it looks brand new. :D

Well you may have to just be patient to find one, took me quite a while. It does seem like they are getting rarer as time goes on though, maybe people are holding on to them now. I think people are more like to "collect" 1000s and more like to "use" other Amigas. I did see one other 1000 for sale locally here for $60 a ways back. So they may be rare here too, but they do seem a lot cheaper than over there when you can find one.

My 1000 is probably the favourite in my collection of a 2000, 3000, and 4000, from a collect-ability point of view, mostly because it's in as new condition and the others aren't. This 1000 is gonna get babied.

Good luck on the quest.
