Mcc-216 vga

Has anyone seen one of these?
If so, how well does it work?
What kind of Amiga emulation are they planning?

I have one these MCCs (VGA version) for development and retro game playing (C64 etc ..).  I started some development on it and had to put the project/port on hold when new job and family illness came up. For the price, it is a good unit.

Thank you.
It looked interesting.
I wouldn't mind having something I could run C64 software on.
C64s are getting surprisingly expensive.

I got one of those C64 DTV and mod it for PS2 keyboard and external power. Next is the SD adapter which I'm saving for, so I can run my own games on it.

I would like to see SYSINFO run one of the MC216 and compare to real ones.
I'm curious too about them.

If you want something for C64 (not a C64) look to the Chameleon

Why not get a Chameleon64 then?

If you have an existing C64 or C64C then it plugs into the back, provides a VGA video out, floppy emulation (to allow *.D64 or *.PRG use), tape emulation (*.T64), cartridge emulation (*.CRT), extra RAM and speed for GEOS and lets you use any devices plugged into your actual C64 like joysticks, mice, real floppy/tape drives.

IF you don't have a C64 handy then the whole cartridge will work in a standalone mode (plug in a PS-2 keyboard) and if you attach the optional docking station then you can use the joystick ports on that.

There's much more too it  You can use a CDTV IR remote as a joystick, run a Minimig core, run a ZX Spectrum core, etc, etc.

I have one of those collecting dust in the closet.
It's a closed-source solution (compared to Minimig / FPGA ARCADE) wich hasn't been updated in more than a year.
It has an acceptable C64 core with many incompatibilities wich will likely remain as it is, and a truly poor, poor Amiga core based on modified Minimig sources with no sourcecode available, wich is sad and illegal.

Support is scarce and lame.

Manufacturing quality is BAD: mine got it's power switch broken after a week of use and power adapter after two weeks. It's a cheap piece of s**t in my opinion.

Go for a Minimig or FPGA Arcade instead. If you waste money in this thing, you'll regret.

I've been interested in the chameleon.
I have a C64 with MMC Replay cart. Was thinking of changing so I didn't have to keep copying D64's to floppys but from that review I might as well just stick with what I have

Chameleon looks interesting, but I don't have a C64 and the Replay board looks like a better Amiga emulator.

Iggy the Chameleon works with a C64 or as a standalone computer

I have the MMC Replay cart too.  It's gathering dust as I just run the D64 & T64 images from an SD card in the Chameleon.

If you want the Amiga more than the C64 then I'd go the FPGA Arcade route as it provides an AGA machine.  I'm also hoping we get a C64 core for the FPGA Arcade.  There is a VIC-20 core already.

I have both so I have no bias.  I really use the Chamelon as an expanded C64 while my FPGA Arcade is purely used as an Amiga.
