I've got my X1000 :-)
« on: April 12, 2012, 10:30:10 AM »
My X1000 arrived a couple of days ago.  I've booted it up and had a look around, but I haven't got any new software to install yet.

I'm really happy.  Pity I have to still use Windoze at work though.

Would you trade it for my Amiga Mini :D? Please add 400€ on top of it and put in an envelope inside the X1000 case ;)
Thank you!

on topic: Enjoy using the thing after you get OS4.x installed
EDIT: sorry misread, you have the OS already, but no software...

Don't worry.  There's plenty of software.  Much of it is old & some of it is a bit buggy, but it's still a pleasure to be using an Amiga again.

I have every intention of getting a Mac Mini & install MorphOS too.  Pity I can't install MorphOS on the X1000 :-(

Get used to that feeling because it's an awesome machine. The lady is on fire and that is putting it mildly

As for this comment, I had a strange thought about it just at that moment. I use an Win7 ASUS i7 Quad Core 8GB HD16:9 Laptop at work and it's fine as a tool and it lets me do everything I need to at work each day but I tell you, I'm glad it's not my Amiga X1000. Since it's great to keep it completely seperate.

This of course would be completely different if I worked in my own business (I own my own but I don't work there) so further down the road when I leave my current employment because my business needs me I'll seriously consider getting a few more X1000s for my office and perhaps phase them in for the staff, the higher achievers perhaps :hammer:

No you're not going to run MorphOS on an X1000.
But you could buy a Powerbook.
That's what Trevor said he recently bought in anticipation of MorphOS' 3.0 release (you've got to really  like that guy - he's definitely one of us).
