« on: March 14, 2012, 01:29:48 PM »
Hi, guys. I finally have a cdtv and a cd32 but now i need starting to burn some games to play on this systems. Which kind of cd-r do you use/advice to use on both of this systems. I don't want to spend money on cheap cd-r and then damaging the internal reading laser. Need to some advice on buying cd-rs to burn. Open to sugestions.

I have had far more success using cheap-of-the-cheapest CDR's. They tend to have thinner anti-scratch protection and the old lasers seem to be able to read them better. Always burn on the lowest speed possible too.

The very best CD-Rs to use for CD32s are the ones with very reflective surfaces. I've found "printable" CD-Rs with the white top and a SILVER bottom (don't get CD-Rs with a blue shiny side) work the best. Fortunately for me these are very cheap, around $10 for a spindle of 50. Burn at as low a speed as your CD burner will go, just to be extra thorough
