Can't get HighGfx working
« on: March 08, 2012, 04:58:14 AM »
Hi all,

I'm using an Indivision ECS for the very first time and I can't seem to get the HighGfx monitor driver working. I've got it in Devs:Monitors, but no associated screenmodes show up in Prefs/Screenmode or Prefs/Overscan. Indivision seems to have firmware 1.01, which I thought was the latest. The machine is an A2000 with Workbench 2.1. Does HighGfx require 3.1? Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Matt_H mate HighGFX requires 2.1 and above as it's readme declares so I guess if you're using 2.1+ you're good to go.
You putted both HighGFX and it's info file in Devs:Monitors?

Also you can use Ratte's awesome SuperPlus Driver (800x600) after installing Indivision's latest beta core (both files exist on a thread over a1k.org).
I made a quick review over my Blog which you can check here (it has the link to the thread as well)

I am sorry.
My drivers requires os3.x to work.
There is some code inside that need v39-functions (os2.1 has v38/37 code).
I've to fix it ...

Do you have to update to Indivision's latest beta core to use the SuperPlus Driver (800x600)? If so what benefits or loss would there be using it?

Hi.
I have just installed an IndiECS in my A2000 in place of my old Amber card.
Highgfx is fine.
I have tried the beta Shapeshifter driver: it works stable but is extremly slow with my 060. Did you try this too?

Is there any other software that takes advantage of the IndiECS?
10 Classic Amiga Computers so far: I have too many computers!!

superplus requires beta core 1.10
there is only this benifit ... superplus support added

differences between 800x600 screenmodes
super72 with max. 4 colors out of 64
superplus with max. 16 colors out of 4096

sideeffect, running in same colordeep (4 col.) it is faster than super72

So, what exactly is the solution here?  I just installed an indivision ECS into my rev 4.3 mobo with 3.1 roms and WB 3.1 and I get no highgfx in the window either (having all drivers where they should be)

nevermind!  I downloaded the ECS utility and now it is...glorious!

If you are having problems not getting the resolutions you want, use the utility, click "Default Config", then power cycle.

1024x768x4 color is magnificent!
