@number6

Yes perhaps, we briefed one person about the news item before posting it but in the future we should allow a few people from several countries to check it out ahead of time.

You do realise that Aladdin Systems was force to change it's name to Allume Systems because of a Trademark dispute with Aladdin Knowledge Systems (which is now known as SafeNet).

What we\'re witnessing is the sad, lonely crowing of that last, doomed cock.

We have documented proof of the name Aladdin 4D going way way way back. This is in many forms including but not limited to published magazine articles & Ads.

Well I thought it was funny :)

Borat had me in stitches too.  Didn't think too much of Bruno and I've never seen any Ali G sketches.

IF that doesnt look some Illumanti BS nothing does...

Notice how that "ring" circles the entire pyramid (which represents the globe and all of us) and naturally the "capstone" where the "all seeing eye" usually goes is once again above the ring of control.. amazing. Once you know symbology the whole planet starts to resemble "They Live!"

Until the MorphOS (or others) version is released, even a 100% off sale would be worthless...

Hey that's a low blow!

:)

We did not have control of Aladdin 4D when it was originally being developed in the Middle Ages.

Updating it so its not **** takes many hours, time and effort. Better to do it the right way.

I know that version 6.0 is being made for MacOS, AmigaOS (PPC) and Linux.

But will there be a 6.0 for 68K Amigas?

Since it is mostly an updating of the software and bugfixing, is there any technical reason why it can't be ported to OS3.9 68K?

It would be great to at least get the bugfixes in a 68K version.  If not version 6.0 for classic Amigas, perhaps a version 5.5 with only the bugfixes?

I've been waiting a long time.  Aladdin is great on OS3.9 but there are a few bugs/quirks here and there that need to be squashed (these are usually on advanced / deeper functions so I don't want to dissuade any new users from buying this software - and there are always work arounds).

None of the bugs are big problems (i.e. they don't crash the application), they are just odd behaviours under certain circumstances or certain features not functioning as described.
Music I've made using Amigas and other retro-instruments: http://theovoids.bandcamp.com

@ral-clan

It is being discussed internally. Some of the newer features like MUI support and modern filters would benefit the 68k version. Bug fixes being done in the rewrite would also benefit the 68k version of the software.

You already missed your previous deadline by a full year and four months (see: http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=49447). Now, instead of at least admitting in public that you failed to deliver (remember: buyers who wanted to should have been refunded), you disguise a new sale ad for your already soon 1 year and a half late product, which has no ETA.

And by doing so, you keep trying to sell your old Aladdin v5 to people waiting for a modern PPC renderer...

Am I the only one not getting the sense of... how do you call it ? "humor" ?

I would perfectly understand it if you had a product released, or at least publicy admitted you failed to deliver. But instead, you make it seem as if everything was perfect, on schedule,...

At least, be honest towards your customers.

The problem here is I don't know how to program in C. DiscreetFX Labs is working on Aladdin 4D 6.0, they are not done with it yet. I want it available more than anyone. We don't have customers waiting on the wings of nothingness. Anyone that really wanted a refund already got one. Believe it or not people enjoy and use Aladdin 4D 5.x everyday.
