Winuae under Parallels 7
« on: February 19, 2012, 06:40:29 PM »
Hi

Been playing with Winuae under Parallels 7 and managed to get something up and running, Dungeon Master as it turned out :)

It all seems to be running OK except under windows mode, full screen all OK, under windowed mode the mouse pointer is all over the place.

Any help would be good.

It's an issue with how Parallels and other virtualization suites report mouse input to the guest system.

In WinUAE go to Host -> Game ports and uncheck Install virtual mouse driver, and in Parallels disable any feature or setting that will smooth pointer movement. I was using Parallels just a week ago but opted to go back to Virtual Box and have completely forgotten the name of the setting since, but in Virtual Box it's called "mouse integration" and should have a similar name in Parallels.

Thanks for the reply I have now removed Parallels and using E-UAE, If I find this does not suit my Amiga emulations needs then I still have Bootcamp to fall back on.

Yes nice idea if I could use WINE, I have looked at WINE in the past and cannot come to terms with it.

Be nice if I could get hold of Winuae in a wrapper to try :)
