You could always try the old C= program "AmigaGuide" which is only capable of displaying guides. Don't remember if it has copy/paste. IIRC, the OS3.1+ MultiView has copy/paste and if you're running 3.0 I can only recommend an upgrade.

thnx carls, but 'amiga guide' so ugly ;) multiwiev is good, but just need normal copy+paste .. i use os3.9/bb2 + multiview
45.9. and if i open any #?.guide, i can't copy text to clip.
btw, in menu i see edit/mark, but mark is unreachable .. mouse can't copy text to clip too. maybe need set some prefs anywhere for this ?

AmigaGuide does not support Cut&Paste. Use "save as" from the menu to save the current page as text into a file, then open it with Multiview and use Cut&Paste to copy the desired paragraph (Os3.9 required).

Bye,
Thomas

hi kas1e

yes i know, it is annoying for me too.

The only option with Multiview, is to choose Modify/Copy but this act a copy to clipboard, of the full AmigaGuide page.

Ciao

It is used in pictures to mark a certain area, and copy it to the clipboard as a brush. ;-)

There was a beefed up unofficial version of AmigaGuide written that allowed inline pictures and other enhancements, while being totally compatible with existing .guides. I'm sure if you can find that it will have copy and paste. It's likely called something like 'MagicGuide' or Super whatever... you get the idea ;-)

Have a look on Aminet under /text/hyper.

Other than that, just open the guide in a text editor and search for the text you want :-)
