4GB CF PCMCIA card on WB3.1
« on: January 21, 2012, 07:39:34 PM »
Hi folks!

I'm struggling with a problem to read a PCMCIA card with a CF 4Gb card running workbench 3.1 on my desktop Amiga1200. The card does not show up on the desktop screen, and I can't access it at all.

When I'm trying the same CF card on a different workbench 3.9 installation, everything works fine, and the CF card shows up on my desktop screen.

Do anyone knows how i can make the CF work on my WB3.1 installation?

Thanks!

There's a longstanding bug in the Kickstart with regards to resetting the PCMCIA slot when first booting up.  Install this CardReset utility in your s:startup-sequence file and it should work.

Thanks! My mission is to finally install WB3.9, but I cant get the WB3.1 to read my CF PCMCIA card..

I have downloaded the cardreset utility, and copy the cardreset file to dir C:, but how do i proceed the next step:

1: Add "CardPatch" line to Startup-Seqence. Look for util/boot/CardPatch.lha.

2:Add "CardReset" line to your Startup-Sequence or User-Startup.

I use DOPUS to read files, and have access to the startup-sequence file. But dont understand how to do the 2 steps above...

Ah.. now I understand that CardReset and Cardpatch is two different files.

I have added the line to the startup-sequence file, but dont know if I've put it in the right position in the text file?

The workbench is starting up as normal, but the PCMCIA card is not
appearing.. :(
