16MB simm in a Magnum 030 board ?
« on: January 17, 2012, 09:17:17 PM »
I have a query regarding a Magnum 030 40mhz accelerator I have, it didnt have any memory onboard so I had a rake around looking for a simm and tried a couple thinking once I find one around 8MB that would be the card maxed out, turns out I only have 4 and 16MB simms, but on plugging in the 16MB stick it shows on workbench as 16MB and also in Sysinfo & AIBB, so would this be safe to use or if going above 8MB which as I understand is the max for these cards, will I run into problems ?

Dunno about this card, but... If a 16 MB SIMM works and 8 MB SIMMs work as well (2 banks) then a 32 MB should as well (same chip density as 16 MB).
