Another question about Amigakit's Capacitor Replacement Server

Sorry to post here, but I never get any answer when I ask Amigakit direct.

I have a rev 1B A1200 (which I've had since new) and though I generally dont have many problems with it I do get random crashes / reboots and an incompatability between idefix-express and the Apollo 1260 (read errors in express mode).

Also the RF and composite outs haven't worked since 1995.
The picture just rolls up and down the screen and everything is red, but this has never been important as it's always been used in a VGA monitor through the RGB output and now through Indivision/RTG.

Every post I've read has said I should replace the caps anyway simply because of their age, but I'd also like to know is:

1) Is likely so cure any of the other problems?
2) Do I also need their timing fix service? Could this be why the Idefix express dongle doesn't work with the Apollo?
3) And finally, what is the turn around time?

Sorry again for posting here, but it's going to take me some time to dismantle the tower and I need to know if it'll be worth it for a system that generally works quite well.

I don't think you can get a definite answer to those questions. The timing fixes *might* fix incompatibilities between the Apollo and the IDE-Fix Express, but it could also be down to how either of them work, in which case they may never work together...

Likewise with the video out, it could be dead capacitors, could also be another faulty part or some dry solder joints. Hard to know really without doing some more diagnostic work with a scope and some patience / luck...

Bets thing to do is either phone them or send em a mail. They are friendly guys and would probably be able to advise you right away.

I'm not sure if I'm being helpful here, but I think it would be more prudent now, to save up for a RePlay FPGA board with the AGA minimum core than to try and keep an A1200 going... I fully respect that you may want to have a working A1200, and my advice is worthless

@Bloodline, I haven't been following the RePlay FPGA board status stuff well. What is the average cost of doing that and are they available right now? Do you have one? Do they work well? What are the issues you've experienced (assuming you own one)?

I'm not experienced with one, I just follow the development and am giving my opinion
