AHI trouble. Sound in one side only?
« on: January 04, 2012, 01:15:15 AM »
Never got the hang of AHI. Im using a plain 1200, no soundcards. However, no matter which mode I select in the AHI prefs, I only get mods (delitracker, hippo player) playing in one speaker, and basically only getting.

Im sure its something simple.

This is a straight up classicWB install, 3.1, if that helps any

Are you sure both left and right sound outputs are working on your Amiga?

They worked before installing with my old setup.

I tested by loading a game that doesn't use AHI (Subwar) and everything sounded fine.

Simply play a mod using Paula and not AHI and check if both the right channels and left channels are working.

This might be a dumb question but do you have a suggestion for a player that doesn't use AHI for sure?

as an aside, I tried this:

delitracker lets you slide the balance from left to right. Slide it all the way to the left, no sound, all the way to the right, loud.
If I swap the audio cables, it happens in reverse (sliding to the left loud, sliding to the right, no sound)

oh mother F'er. I figured it out. Plug headphones in and sound is perfect. My speakers are knackered I guess.

Thanks for your help in any event!
