Could you guys help me?
Im wanting to find out how to get software for my amiga 1200 that ive probably even forgot how to turn on.  

There was also a way to boot the amiga to the old OS to play old games.
could you remind me how to do that also???

I think while everyone here is loath to say "RTFM", or something similiar, perhaps you might like to actually try getting it up and running yourself?

A little effort goes a long way.

And don't take this as an elitist attitude.  You'd get much the same response, even if it was just a look, if you were to buy a toaster then take it back asking how it works.

Hmmm, I posted a reply to this right before aorg maintenance apparently begun (is it over yet?), and now it's gone.

To summarize:

Software?
Aminet! The world's Number One Repository of old crud, WB screenshots and .mods!

"Boot to old OS"?
Depending on what that's supposed to mean:
A. Hold both mousebuttons at boot, choose to disable AGA and CPU caches!
B. Search for "degrader" on Aminet!
C. Buy a kickstart switcher!
