I'd like to leave the card slot free for wireless networking, but yes some fast ram in there would be nice.  I've spent time looking into this but knowing my luck I'll probably buy an SRAM card and then it won't work.  If someone can point me in the right direction to an SRAM card that definitely works with the 600 then I might be tempted.

I'm pondering whether or not to get an ACA630 once they're back in stock from Amigakit, but my personal taste would be to keep it 68000 with fast ram if possible.
Can anyone tell me how easy it is to disable the ACA630?  I mean, is it a key combination you have to press to go back to 68000 mode?  Is it a program I have to run and then reboot?  A jumper maybe?  Can I go back to 68000 mode but keep the fast ram or will that go as well?

"If you need to run very old software that will only work on the 68000 processor, the ACA630 can be completely disabled."

Thanks Gulliver, strange you should mention PFS for 1.3, because I found it the other day when tinkering with a 1.3 A2000 emulation I've set up, but it didn't occur to me to try it with the A600, but I might do that.

There have been some discussions of modern sources for compatible PCMCIA ram cards.  I can't help with this, mine (4 Megs, which I think is the maximum size) dates from mid 90s, when they were advertized in printed magazines.

I've never wirelessly networked a 600 (I have browsed the WWW with one thru a serial modem).  On first glance, I would think you would want an Amiga with better graphics for networking.  I probably don't understand your goals here.

The ACA is a 32-bit accelerator and the 32 Megs of ram is tied to it.  I doubt your 16-bit 68000 (8 megs of fast, maximum) can access any part of it with the accelerator disabled.

Just wanted it to transfer files via FTP. You're very fortunate having 4MB fast ram.  It must be a nice machine.

I have run PFS3 on all my HDD enabled AMIGA computers for the last 10 years with not 1 single loss of data. From Z3 SCSI to Cappy A4000 / 1200 IDE controlers, they have been fast and rock solid. I have only ever used the .......ds versions for scsi . anyhow, set it up correctly and t should be trouble free.

Any updates on the PFS3 update project? I want to use large disks greater than 4GB partitions :-)
BTW, I have used CloneZilla to clone older drives in sector mode no problems if ayone needs it. Free prog.

Toni Wilen's All-in-One patched version is the most up to date binary floating about.
