I agree gateway really missed the boat and are as large a part of amigas demise as anyone, after all they sold off to silly billy.
I would still argue however, that silly billy at the fake amiga inc and all its related shell game "companies" has done more harm to amiga and its legacy than any single individual.
The t-shirt scam, all the promises of new amiga, the bankruptcies, screwing investors, shell games to screw "shareholders" and business partners out of any money they put in, the fake company stuff (people visited their "office" in nyc and it was laughable!) The stadium sponsorship fakeout, and now the latest scam, taking orders for tablet devices they never delivered.
What else? Screwing cloanto or trying to, screwing H+P,Screwing amithlon developers... Screwing MorphOS developers,and more.
Hey there is selling the rights to use the name to anyone with a few bucks that want to slap stickers on standard pcs.
And lets not forget the hyperion/ainc battles that screwed any change of amiga progress for years and years
Silly Billy is by far the worst thing that ever happened to AMIGA, period.
He is the root of all the slimeball amiga grave robbing scams since commodore went under.
