Haven't read this particular C64 book, but just wanted to chime in and say the Commodork: Sordid Tales from a BBS Junkie book is an excellent read, even for folks that weren't big BBS'ers back in the moldy oldie days.

The book is available in the UK (It is written by a Brit - I have met the author at a few retro events) - from http://hiivebooks.com/books.aspx I have the speccy one also, and there was talk (on eab I think) about an Amiga one in the works. Don't know what happened about that - I'll have to dig the thread out.

Cheers Buzz. Will order myself a copy. Might even get the speccy one too. An amiga one would be awesome though. Maybe the author is just taking a break.

Well buying a book that is probably just a rehash of old reviews seems strange to me.
There's plenty of abandoware 8/16bits magazines that should fill everyone needs and for free.

A shiny book can pass the wife-approval-factor, unlike a massive pile of old magazines.

I bought this book back when it was released simply because of the cover.

I'm not terribly interested in reading about games.
3 Commodore file cabinets, 2 Commodore USB turntables, 1 AmigaWorld beer mug
Alienware M14x i7 laptop running AmigaForever

The 8 bit book is by "Jerry Ellis" so I think there is some name confusion going on.
