HELP! Dying to remember a AMIGA PD Tetris game!
« on: November 12, 2011, 11:53:27 PM »
OK here we go lol! Amiga Tetris, I am sure there were a couple right?
Uh huh, well what I remember is, and I may not be accurate is it was a  well playing, basic version of good old TETRIS but the most memorable  thing about it that I loved is the background music was PHIL COLLINS IN  THE AIR TONIGHT! It was addicting to me to play this and listen to that  loud thumping drum solo! For the life of me I do not recall the name of  this wonderful TETRIS game! PLEASE HELP!

TetrisPro had a great soundtrack, though not sure it was a Phil Collins one.

Naw I checked Tetri Pro, very nice but this one was definitely more plain graphically and the only song was Phil Collins In the Air Tonight over and over...............

Also pretty sure it was JUST the music, no voice, Here is originally video of the song if it helps refresh anyone's memory..........

Sorry, I can not help you in your searching but I recommend "Tritus". A lot of fun and multiplayer!

I have memories of a public domain Tetris-clone that played "Last Chistmas" (Wham).

do you remember if it was a standalone Tetris or it was embedded/hardcoded in another tool like Tetra Copy or such?

even because due the music copyright limitation, it could have been some "home-made" not that legal thing! :-)

Phil Collins is a better coder than I realized :D

Its a shame his music became so popular.  Think of all the great games he could have made if he hadn't wasted all that time on that silly music career of his. :D
Wanna try a wonderfull strategy game with lots of handdrawn anims,
Magic Spells and Monsters, Incredible playability and lastability,
English speech, etc. Total Chaos AGA

Standalone, fullscreen Tetris clone I am pretty sure....

If you are really that sure the music was by Phill Collins then i don´t know the game you want to find.

But i´ll sugest anyway an amazing Tetris clone, and i´m not sure if it was PD (i think it wasn´t). It´s called Start´N Tris.

The background music was catchy, but a little faster than the Phill´s music.

The playability was fantastic (come on, it´s an Amiga, for god´s sake!), and if you get some consecutive lines cleared the screen shakes up and down.

This game is really difficult to come buy and i coundn´t find any reference to it on the Internet. Neither on HOL or on You Tube, but i think i still have and ADF here somewhere...

Positive it was PHIL COLLINS IN THE AIR TONIGHT and l also single Tetris screen so NOT Twintris......thanks anyway but after posting on several Amiga boards I am really thinking perhaps it was an obscure PD contribution perhaps from Aminet or some coverdisk and probably lost to me forever....:(

I think the game you are describing really exists because I also vaguely remember it.  I also thought I remembered playing it from your very first post but I have no idea what the name of the game is.

Well this is definitely not one of those "I think I remember" or "Maybe it was a dream" etc. No question it existed I played it sooooo much and will never forget the music or drum solo, I was living with roommates at the time and this one girl even loved it even got to the point she was asking to play the game a little to much lol! I think the problem is it was simply obscure and possibly just something found as a submission on a coverdisk or something. I just never thought one day in the future it would haunt me so or I would have kept better details.......

Blop Box was a lot of fun. I don't remember what music it had though, which makes this comment a bit pointless, but oh well.
