I'm interested, what kind of language I can use here?

It sounds fun, but I want to do it better, so can I call them wankers? Also one important questin is who or whom I can call crimials and wankers, is it some how limited to OS4 devs and other people involved?

Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, put I just want to be part of the game.

@matt3k

I wish everyone else felt like you. Unfortunately there are people who just want to see AmigaOS 4 fail, for one reason or another.
Life is far to short to worry and get upset over stuff like this.  Enjoy what you have and wish the others well...

If I was to make a guess as the 'netbook OEM' Hyperion will be using, I would guess it would be LinkBook. They are the only netbook OEM I know of that use a PowerPC processor as their base.

http://www.linkbook.co.za/

http://liliputing.com/2010/05/linkbook-9-inch-netbook-with-a-powerpc-processor.html

Considering their web site is promoting the fact that their 9" is 'almost sold out', I would not be surprised if a 12" model is waiting in the wings for the 9"s to be sold off.

That coincides nicely with Hyperion's "next few months" release of the netbook, and why they didn't have a demo model at the show.

I think most other people think that the OS4 Netbook will be a LimeBook, not the LinkBook that you linked to.

Is the LinkBook based on the e300 PPC CPU?  I could not find that info in any of the pages on their site.  Also, I think the specs of the LimeBook match what was released about the OS4 Netbook closer than the specs of the Linkbook.  It was also stated that the OS4 Netbook has already existed for a while, maybe 2 years, and that the delay in releasing it is only to get the OS4 specific drivers for all of it's components written.

I also visited the LimePC site and could not find recent pages about the e300 based LimeBook, so I guess it is a discontinued product, of which I am not sure how many were sold in the past.  I am guessing that they may have a large amount of previously manufactured stock on hand that did not sell that they could repackage with AmigaOne stickers on them at a low price.  Something that should have been done a couple of years ago, but better late than never.

Back ON TOPIC:  I ordered my X1000 yesterday and can't wait for it to be delivered in a few weeks, or months.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Actual price: £1915.01 ($USD 3,012.69)  (before shipping or VAT)

So it did indeed break the 3k mark...

Linkbook is a re-branded Limebook sold by Vodacom for the South African market.  You just need to compare the images to see that.

I don't think that was ever really in any doubt, was it? I can remember seeing an old (well, when it was first demoed) video clip where Trevor, when pressed, said the price would "probably be north of 1700 quid".

He said "north of 1500 quid" at The Vintage Computing Festival 2010.

Right, I knew it was something like that. Can't remember where I got 1700 from. Probably one of the many postings about the subject.

He wasn't wrong though, was he? ;)

Hi,

Wow!!!

What a price, and for old hardware, well every body on Amiga.org should be pretty happy, you all have some more old outdated hardware to buy for your collection of unreal Amiga junk, like the sam440, the morphos junk, notAmi, and AROS. What more can a real Amiga collector want, another piece of crap to buy. I really like the one that uses old MAC Crap (or should it be CRAC).

Lucky thing I went with PC's with Linux for important stuff, and winblows for games. Works pretty well, get all free software for my important stuff, and get to use UAE for the Amiga programs. Have a REAL AMIGA 4000 which still works quite well, but don't like using it, don't want to burn the old girl out don't you know and besides that I think Cloanto's Amiga Forever fits the bill quite nicely and runs about 100 times faster than my old favorite the Amiga 4000. Last week I was thinking of selling the old girl, but I just can't seem to part with her.

Amiga 4000, with 2.2 gig hd, 18 meg of ram, GVP IV 24 card with switch box, Picasso II card, MSI CD rom disk, lyra pc keyboard adapter, pc mouse adapter and 1.76 (1.4) meg floppy disk.

Now how can you part with something like that. You know at times I thought 2.2 gig hd was rather small, but everytime I look at it, it has probably over 300 programs on it and my music and picture files, and it is only half full.

Pretty good for old tech, wouldn't you say.

Have a nice day and keep looking at and wanting that old technology, especially the ones that are just arriving and claiming to be new.

I will just stay with Cloanto's Amiga Forever on my 3.2 gig hertz 6 core PC. Works great and my last until next year when I think I will upgrade to one of the new 8 core machines with a 6870 graphics card (or by then something faster like a nvidia).

I have no idea what your talking about, so here is a doggy with a small pancake on his head.

MorphOS is a MAC done a little better
