Amiga.org Lifetime Membership Special
« on: October 17, 2011, 03:41:46 AM »
Several months back Amiga.org had continuous slowdown issues so we upgraded to a robust high bandwidth hosting plan to give all members a smooth as silk responsive site. Now we are running a special on limited number of lifetime premium memberships to help share in the hosting charges.

It's a great deal for members because you get a lifetime membership to the site with all that brings for only a one time fee of $30. Normally one year memberships are $20. So please enjoy the site and if you can become a lifetime member and no longer worry about renewals and help keep Amiga.org on net.

To become a lifetime member just click "Feed the kitty" on the lower right. Then pick custom amount and input $30. You're membership will then be upgraded to lifetime status with 24 hours or less. Thanks again for the help.

Well I've paid the $30.00 and now got a warm glow inside.  Discreet FX is the owner of the site?

How about the site owners paying the members that provide all the help to people?

I would rather keep paying a yearly amount as this will help to fund the site longer

I doubt it.  As soon as all the money that can be extracted from people has been collected it's Spanish Lesbian time for this place.

Didn't take long for amiga.org to ask for more money.

You must have an entire rack, judging by how much your hosting seems to cost!

Somebody (who exactly?) coughed up some $10,000 for buying this site quite easily, but is now asking for *change money* for the server space? I don't understand. Or was the idea to make this some kind of pay-service, to make it a *business* out of it? It won't work. Different levels of paid memberships, etc, yada, yada -- I'll tell you what: I have *already* been a member of this site during *the site's* whole lifetime (almost)! I understand why Wayne would ask for contributions to "the kitty" back then, but I must say the current site owner *does not* come through as some poor dude in need of charity, heck, I don't even have a clear picture who the guy is. And speaking of that, I feel there has been *many other question marks* rising surrounding amiga.org lately. To sum it up - I don't know For What I should pay, I don't know To Whom, and I don't really know Why, I simply don't get your "selling point", so I'll guess I'll pass, sorry...
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

I was considering it but then I remembered how some mod banned me only a week or so ago for expressing a sincerely held opinion. So I won't bother. Your loss.

The paid memerbship came in when Wayne was still running things though thats why I been paying a yearaly sub, was originally to support Wayne and the site.  When you put it like that.......
