I picked up a new acrylic case for the mini-ITX minimig I got from Espen a while back.
I had to modify the front for the SD card slot and also the reset button and menu buttons on top.
I've posted pictures over in the gallery under the hardware directory.
The case is from LCDmod Kit (
http://www.lcdmodkit.com). They're also selling them on ebay for around $40-45.
The header the ribbon cable is running from has all the signals for the menu button, reset button, and power and disk drive LED's which made it really convenient to fabricate the header. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until I was done the top isn't quite square! It's about 1/4" longer than wide. GRRRRR!!!!!!!
I also de-installed the power jack and installed a new one on the back along with a power switch. To me, that's one of the biggest flaws with both minimig designs, no power switch! Now I can leave it plugged in and turn it on when I feel like it.
Probably the hardest part of the whole process was cutting the SD slot. Had to be exactly on target or I'm screwed!
To me it really highlights the minimig.
