It'll be either this driver or this driver. Which TCP/IP stack are you using? Genesis and Miami should both be pretty easy to set up.

EasyNet software supports ethernet drivers such as 3c589 and CNet:

Ok so i have just purchased EasyNet from amigakit and have also purchased some edo ram for my accelerator card as it is not pcmcia friendly with more than 4mb of ram. when they both come i will give it another try and see how i get on and get back to you all, fingers crossed it works, if it doesn't then i will be very sad :(

No idea about this card but could it be a DNS issue? if you try by IP does it work? (http://www.google.co.uk resolves as http://209.85.146.147)

Do you get your ip over DHCP? or use a manually configured static address?

If you need to specify a DNS server try OpenDNS Primary 208.67.222.222 Secondary 208.67.220.220

Sounds good :) For simplicity, SMBFS is probably your best bet for sharing PC drives. For the PC to see your drives you need to install the full Samba package, and that can be quite a chore - not to mention pretty slow. I use SMBFS to show the PC drives on the Amiga, and when I need to access the Amiga drives from the PC I use FTP with the quite good RC-FTPd server. RC-FTPd is on Aminet (http://aminet.net/package/comm/tcp/rc-ftpd) and the latest SMBFS is on Sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/amiga-smbfs/files/amiga-smbfs/smbfs%201.74/)

Edit: Shameless plug, but I've written a basic GUI for SMBFS which will help you avoid messing around with the command prompt... http://aminet.net/package/comm/net/SMBMounter

You have to love Easynet.  I remember buying it with a PCMCIA card for my A1200T, configuring it and wondering if I did it right.  Then I glanced at my screen and noticed a message stating it was downloading an update and thought "Yep, that looks like a good sign to me!".  :D

Not if you're running Windows..
Samba is just an (originally) Linux implementation of the SMB network filesystem or Windows network filesystem..
