Found a A4000T today!! Yipppeee!
« on: September 23, 2011, 05:17:11 PM »
Well, I finally found my holy grail today ( though I've said that many times before! :) ).

I picked up a Amiga (not commodore but that would be too lucky) A4000T and 4 boxes of gear today for less than the lowest priced CUSA C64!.

A big plus is that the front door is in perfect shape and it even came with the 'legs' for the case. It has a little yellowing on the face plate but I think it will be a perfect retr-o-brite project.

I haven't gone through all of the boxes but so far one is filled with CD's (OS3.9, Lightwave, etc.) and in the other I found a CS '060 filled with ram and a USB card (Subway I think.)

You can still find stuff out in the wild!  It might be old junk to other's but it's gold to me!

What do you mean you found it?  Like at the side of the road?

Yeah, give one of your miggies to a worthy user!
I gave my A4000 away on this very forum. (actually I wish I'd kept the 4000D, and got rid of the A4000T).

Yeah, I have a lot more that I never listed too, but as you know you can't just run down to the corner store and buy Amiga gear so I have found that you just have to get bulk buys when you can and pick the keeper items and liquidate the rest.  I have just never gotten to the liquidate part yet, that part takes too much time up.

More than using these computers I enjoy restoring them to best condition I can, that is the fun part for me.

Not picking on you in particular but it chaps my hide when people complain that someone has to much of something so they should give it away.  I search high and low to find my Amiga gear, pound the pavement and ask around and often pay good money for the stuff and ocassionally find a good deal, should I hand deliver to someone that doesn't put forth the same effort or feel guilty because of it?

I have given alot away in the past and will in the future......

Please tell us why.  What do you miss about the 4000D?
