« on: September 20, 2011, 11:27:33 AM »
This guy has been posting for probably two months now, originally the price was $1000, then $750, and now $600.

Is that just a bad photo or do these things not actually look much like a C64?

In what way do they not look like a C64 apart from the cursor keys?

You guys wait until the upcoming global financial crisis part II then you will start seeing these going at $20 a pop brand new :)

Like I said, i wasn't sure if it was a bad photo (and I haven't been interested enough to go looking at their website) but to me the whole keyboard looks nothing like a C64 and the colour looks off.

I think maybe it's because you can't remember what a new C64 looks like? All of the ones still around today must be pretty grubby by now and maybe you didn't realize that the shiny look with all that gloss is actually how they looked new :)

Yep, could well be a need to remove the rose-tinted specs.

Thanks. I've been loitering around for a while (around 1999) but had to sign up to get involved in all the FPGA goodness that's happening.

Maybe we should all pitch in and buy it so we can host our first live public execution of a computer on A.org.

Good idea. From what I've heard we could just switch it on a wait until it self-immolates!

The colour probably is slightly off because it's more brown less grey than a sealed music maker keyboard I compared it to ipso facto a c64 case not exposed to light for 30 years :)

I guess the free market has decided that the real value of these machines isn't quite what they go for.
