I coulda ended up with one of these minus the '060 for $500 last spring and kinda kick myself that I passed.

I did get to pick up 2 A4000 desktops, one with a CS '060-PPC 233 and 4000 toaster for less though so I am not complaining. :)

Did anyone here participate in the bidding war?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/190570703013?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

for $4000 I would want USB.

Sold to some guy from Nigeria who will send him a cheque for $10,000, ask him to deduct the $4,000 and then send him the Amiga plus the other $6,000 to an address in Florida.  ;)

Hey, don't involve Florida!

Actually, you are right. This place is the land of scams.

I once paid a fake parking lot attendant.

I agree.  $1000 would buy a very nice PC setup with Amiga Forever and the remaining $3000 would pay for a flight to Rio de Janero where I would spend a week shagging my way around Copacabana.

I certainly wouldn't waste $4000 on an old computer!  :D

lol, sounds like a much way to spend $4000 :-) .

It's something stupid that makes my face to appear just as "bleah"  :(  , something that doesn't make me proud of being an "amigan".
Foolish crazy people... there are too many...
Anyway it's freedom of choice.

I love using my A4000T with all its Amiga goodness, but is it worth $4000:rofl:?  Would I sell it for $4000?  Your damn straight I would, all the way to the bank:hammer:.  Why should I deprive an individual the joy of using such an awesome classic machine at a price that he/she determines for themselves.

I had it in my watch list, but, I was scared away from bidding by the high ship price.

That's just insane. Who would spend that on any classic Amiga. I'm glad I've stuck with just my old A3000/030. Does all the classic stuff I may need.

I don't think a mint *Commodore* A4000T is even worth quite $4000 with all those upgrades?

Well the A4000Ts don't exactly fall out of trees and if you add up teh cost in time and effort of tracking down all of the additional parts in this machine, testing them, installing them, configuring them, etc then it is pretty easy to justify $4,000.  Trying to convince your wife that it is worth $4,000 is something entirely different.  :D

@Darrin,

Yes I would rather ride in the new Jag with the A/C, AM/FM/USB/CD stereo, with the winter heated seats, and summer flow  though seats then a bumpy old slow ugly looking worn out 1960 Jaguar.

Besides that who would want to buy a Jag in the first place, its a British piece of junk, rather have a Porsche or a Maserati. Wouldn't take a Vette if they gave it to me, darn things are made in Mexico. Not worth the money you pay for them.
Speaking of that "If Amiga was manufactured today what country would it be made in?) China, Mexico or Germany.
I have no idea what your talking about, so here is a doggy with a small pancake on his head.

MorphOS is a MAC done a little better
