Ive really been in the mood to make a classic amiga game lately. Usually when this happens I start, get a few routines done, then get over ambitious and eventually lose interest. I made a new years resolution that 2011 would be the year I release some sort of original work, but instead I just did about 100 ports of various bits and pieces for AROS and OS3.x. While this is its own sort of fun it doesnt really compare to to making something from the ground up.
All that said and done Id like (again) to try to break my bad habbit of losing focus by making a simple game that will work on an a500 (I only have an a1200 and amithlon machines, but targetting them could lead to "feature creep").
Now this said and done Im thinking remaking an older 8bit game from c64, speccy, amstrad cpc, etc. might be a bit of fun, not to mention potentially quicker than something completely original (or from a more advanced system)
Anyone have any suggestions as to what theyd like to see on the Amiga? Preferably something that doesnt already exist on the Amiga. Im happy to use ripped gfx for the moment as the focus for me is getting a game running rather than creating any sort of audiovisual masterpiece. In fact gfx and sound are somewhat of a distraction from the actual game (at least for now). Speed of development (and pure fun) are more important for now (so no big rpgs, etc. for the moment).
I think Ive probably started a thread like this before, but hopefully this time I can stick with it and break my bad habbit of losing motivation and focus.
